Genetic Mutations

Okay, I wasn't sure since I know both are somehow connected
In the big picture theyre all connected somehow.
The original bird was the red jungle fowl and they were gold duckwing pattern. Everything from there was a mutation.

I know that some things that look like mutations can be just a recessive trait that was hidden by a dominant trait in earlier generations. (There is a great web site on chicken genetics, http://sellers.kippenjungle.nl/page0.html).

A lot of the features of our common breeds started as mutations from jungle fowl, like naked necks, five-toes, silky, frizzle. Someone noticed the difference, then propagated them.
