Quote: If they did, I would order one and find out exactly what is in each of my birds. Unfortunately, they are about as common as Star Trek transporters and replicators...
Most of the colour and pattern genes are autosomal (not related to gender; both males and females have two copies). Silver/gold, choc and barring re sex-linked. As are leg colour (Id), white skin (y) and brown eye (br).ok intresting. so dose the hen always only have one color gene or is that only for sex linked colors? ex. (S/-)
Bingo...thats correctok so let see if i have this right the roo was extend black witch covered the gound color withch was gold and the mom is silver laced wich inhibited the extended black so that is why the ground color showed up in the offspring and the two are diffrent tones of golden?
oh I wish...You must have a handy DNA sequencer app![]()

y is recessive and sex linked...!Id is sexlinked, y is autosomal
No, at least not a gene that is common in fancy breeds. And why would it be called y?you know there is a sex link recessive white skin?..y? rith?
beats me why its called y... when I find and document a new gene I´ll name it, recessive sex linked Marv...No, at least not a gene that is common in fancy breeds. And why would it be called y?
