German New Hampshire

Those birds came from 2 pens - one with 100% German rooster, and one with the 50% rooster.

Color - I can not get a photograph to show the true colors. There is a definite difference in the German and the Good Shepherd birds.

I guess that explains why I have females that are three different colors. Not three colors on the same bird.........just three shades...... some being on the brownish side, but not really brown and certainly close to the SOP description. I was really down on the color of these until I saw them in person at your place. Half of the females are very close to what I remember of the American NH's. Another example of not being able to tell true colors online. I could take a picture and I think I will of the same bird in the sun and in the shade and they will look like two different colors.

He did not get any birds directly from me.

I have some Good Shepherd New Hamps that are not quite 3 months old. When they are a bit older I will post pictures of the differences in color - them and the Germans.

I guess I must have misread or misunderstood something somewhere down the road. Sorry, my mistake!

I would be real interested in seeing the Good Shepherd birds you have in a couple-three months. I'm in line to get some this fall but I may just stick to what I have for now and see where I'm at with them in a year or two or three, then reevaluate my situation. It's just frustrating when you ask for help and you have a hard time finding any.

Does anyone here have a few extra German New Hampshire eggs right now? I've got a shipment of eggs arriving soon via Ebay and would like to fill the 'bator a little more. These sound pretty neat. Don't have to be show quality, just big and robust stock. PM me if you have extra eggs that are sitting around if you can ship immediately - thanks!
