How ready are you for winter?

Too late, most of my garden died. I really want the bugs to die off as well. Got a lot accomplished today at least. More vents in the coop.

Today i cleaned up my coop building sites. I have a few more rolls of wire to pick up and some wood scraps. I also planted the Clematis i bought for the area near the mail box. Dug up a load of soil for one of the runs, and dumped it near the door to shovel in there tomorrow. Also added another board to the bunny hutch to keep winter winds out.

I picked up 2 bins of sticks and broke them up for kindling. We have a woodstove and get a lot of heat from it. Also picked up the rolls of wire that needed to be brought in.
Making a beef stew for supper. Feeling good that the birds are mostly set for winter, ventilation installed.
Want to rake up some bags of leaves for bedding later once they are dry.

I planted 2 holly bushes and a Camelia bush today, and dug 3 other holes to temporarily hold the bushes out front until we get the sidewalks put in.
Must dash out and check the burn pile.

So today i bought concrete blocks to make a raised bed in front of the house. I am going to plant bushes and flowers there. I got tulip bulbs for 50% off at Lowes

Today i started on a solar water heater for the chicken waterer with a poop back up generator. I got this idea from things i read on BYC. This will be my first attempt.
Here are the pieces of wood i got at Lowes for free, cut to size and painted. I call them skids.

I also have some storm widow inserts i bought at the Restore for $5 each.
