Hello everyone!
I just wanted to share my excitement with you:celebrate

I guess that you could say that we've started up a little sanctuary for poultry. We take any unwanted poultry from people and either keep them or adopt them out to new lovable homes! And gosh, do I love what I do, it's so rewarding!

Anyways, we had a pair of black swedish ducks named Bonnie and Clyde.... Unfortunately Clyde passed away recently and Bonnie is only a few months old. So since Clyde isn't around anymore, she genuinely thinks that she's a chicken and has no idea how to be a duck:lau

Luckily someone called us the other day wanting to get rid of their 2 four year old ducks. One is a fawn indian runner and the other is a blue swedish.

So what my goal is, to hopefully have all of the ducks get along and provide each other the needed companionship.

I am quite excited, they'll be dropping them off today. So wish me luck;)

I would just kepe an eye on them for anything respiratory, but ducks are rather easy to integrate compared to chickens.
How do people know that you are rescuing and rehoming poultry?

Yep, they will definitely be in quarantine for a while anyways:)

As to how people are aware of me rescuing birds, we have local listings plus we are in contact with some local shelters. The shelters help us to spread the word and let us know whenever they get any farm animals;)

That's great!

I'd introduce the 2 adult ducks to the duckling through fencing to start with because adults can be hard on a babe. You'll just have to see how it goes but I'd be cautious.

Yes, I'll have the two new ducks in a pen for a while so that they cannot have any direct contact with my younger one.
