Wow! I’ve heard they are the breed of rooster you want to stay away from, and tend to be pretty aggressive. That’s great! Shows it doesn’t always matter on breedRhode Island Red.

Though they are all just roosters, would that also make them less prone to be aggressive to humans, since there is no hens to protect? Here is a bachelor pen. They're all good boys.

Yes, that would be bad. I’m saying to have a rooster with (the right amount of) hens, would they be more aggressive as they feel they need to protect the hens from you? When you put females in with that many males then there could be problems.
Oh interesting. I had heard that your rooster thinking you were a hen would be bad, as the will boss you around and peck you if you don’t listen, and you can’t really hold them? I could be wrong, as I’m new to roostersI keep RIR roosters with my hens but I did not handle them when they were growing. If you are stand-offish with the rooster but interact with the hens he usually accepts you as a hen and leaves you be. So I am a full grown man who happens to be a hen in my three roosters eyes.

Oh ok.I don’t even try to hold them unless they’re going to freezer camp. They don’t boss me around or anything. They let me collect my eggs and clean the coop.
