Getting a rooster.

He's probably just a mix, maybe an OE, but I doubt it. Definitely not a Rhode Island Red

Maybe a Welsumer or brown Leghorn mix. No way to be sure with mixes.

I am set to pick up a rooster tomorrow and would appreciate help in determining his breed.

Could just be a barnyard mix, he does however have a (black triangle) crow wing, which I believe is connected to the gold-necked birchen gene. In my opinion he most resembles a black copper marans(body shape, comb, wattles, skin color, shank color) and white earlobes are a common fault. If the person you are getting him from has BCM, then it's likely that he is, or in part, if not, his phenotype is gold-necked birchen. He's lovely looking, I wish you luck.

Thank you sir, you know a lot more about breeding then I do. I’ll look more into it and possibly will have his genes tested at the vet for fairly cheap and will keep all who has commented/replied updated on this post.

He’s got white legs, so I too am thinking maybe a black copper Marans mix of some kind.
