Getting bumped down a list. Has this happened to you?

I would ask for a refund. Maybe they are having laying problems. My Brabanters are STILL not laying! Two months now! I have read in several sources that they my not lay until Spring! Rats! I have put a light n their pen to see if that helps.

You are right not to assume, but they did not even offer me the eggs they had. I did ask how many they could send. I just never heard back.

I also am on another waiting list that might be a year. I am fine with that. That individual has been excellent setting the parameters and expectations. I understand we cannot control what our hens do.

I will also add that I have had numerous breeders that could not send as promised, but each one communicated with me, and I was more than fine waiting. One person I waited several months. I wasn't upset or discouraged, as they were consistent in their emails, and knew what I wanted.

Drats, does that mean your grandbabies who are almost 6 months won't give me my babies until spring???????????

I've done away with my waiting list because it is really time consuming and the girls seem to stop laying when you get orders. I have a few more people I have promised eggs to then Im only selling on eggbid and ovabid.
If you have another source to get the eggs than that might work better for you. Just ask for a refund and go that route.

ETA: I'll sell here too

The moms laid at 8 months old and laid every day until end of August. First time I've had this breed so don't know when they'll start up again. I let them range so it's possible they're laying outside. I've heard that hilarious
cacophony chorus when they lay an egg last couple of days, but found no eggs. All off them are in beautiful feather and look great!

I've learned not to take lists because sometimes unfortunate things been happening with my flocks......particularly my Black and Blue Orps LF all have Catalupa Farm lines and they all but a pair were killed by predators!

So when my girls start laying I will hold enough eggs and then post it on here for quick sale!

I don't take lists too often either. I guess it depends on what I am planning for over each period of time and how many inquiries I get about something I'm working on.

I have waited upwards of 2 years for something I really want. I say patience is a virtue if you truly want something bad enough. This is true especially for rare or hard to find breeds. Of course, that's an individual perspective.

With all the issues with waiting lists I decided I am not going to do it either, I have enough work to do. I have promised a few people eggs and will offer them eggs when my birds lay. I didn't do this to get into the egg selling business, just wanted pretty eggs(and birds) for myself and my family. I hope you get this resolved. I would ask for my money back personally, especially if you are uncomfortable.

The waiting wouldn't bother me the lying would put that breeder right off my list. They obviously play favorites if they are sending to others while telling you they have none. Get off their list, find an honest breeder.

Disclaimer: I'm not putting down our honest breeders, but this one was caught in a lie and that is unethical.

This particular breeder didn't lie, it was another one. With that person, I will never recommend them again. Lying to anyone is just unacceptable.

I honestly do not think this breeder is taking me for a ride. I just feel like they are not communicating and maybe have sent out eggs to others first. I don't know why I think thism but it is a sense I am getting. I don't think they are trying to cheat me or anything like that. I think they may be disorganized.

I probably will ask for a refund.
