1st - I just want to Thank everyone that answered my questions about my females ( Rouens ) laying, nesting & going broody. When I saw that 1 of my females was nesting I went a little crazy with the questions & wanting her too go broody but after finding a 2nd nest & having a total of 26 eggs ( as of today ) & no broodiness happening!!! I decided to get rid of the eggs & not wanting to risk having ducklings with health issues ( my ducks are brother & sisters ). I decided to get a couple Cayuga ducklings to add to my Rouen flock, I originally was looking at Pekins but I like the looks of the Cayuga & I think they will mix nicely with my Rouens!!! I've never ordered from a hatchery so I need everyone's opinion, Metzer Farms or My pet chicken?????
P.S.
Also, opinions on Cayuga ducks, please & thanks!!!

I currently have pekins and I am waiting for an order from Meyer Hatchery that will be a Cayuga, black Swedish, and blue Swedish! So excited for the greyish eggs from the Cayuga! I received my first order of chicks from Meyer Hatchery yesterday and I could not be happier. All arrived happy and healthy, and their customer service is great!

Meyer Hatchery??? Never heard of them, I'll check them out, Thanks

Was just on there site!!! They have a minimum order of 3 ducklings so I think I'm going to get 2 Cayuga & 1 Blue Swedish!!!

I got mine from Cackle hatchery and i have not been happier. All ducklings arrived healthy and happy. they even included a extra duckling that also lived. I love the blue colored eggs I get from them and they mix well with my other ducks that include Rouen, Khaki Campbell, and a white duck that I think is a silver apple yard. I have 19 grown ducks and 5 ducklings as of right now.

I’m not sure about hatcheries, but Cayugas are definitely pretty ducks. I see the odd few Cayugas at shows, but they are a pretty uncommon breed here.
