Getting chicks from inside to outside . . .

I think my four chicks are ready to take their first trip outside (they're a little over 3 weeks old and it's been nice and sunny). I was going to build a tractor for them but I googled for ideas and only came up with full-out mobile coop designs. I think all I need for now is a wire enclosure that will keep them contained to a smallish area. What I can't figure out is how to get them in and out of it without them escaping all over the yard. If there are plans posted somewhere or any tips you can offer, I'd love the girls to have an outing this weekend but I don't want to be chasing them all over the yard!

If you don't have a tractor ready then rig up some temporarey shelter with a cover perhaps just a cardboard box. Wait until dark and then use a flashlight to easily catch them in the box. this should work till you come up with a more permanent structure.
