Getting geese today :)

Hi I'm off soon to collect 2 8 week old female geese, a silly question maybe but how do I pick the best 2? Like picking a puppy you go for the one that doesn't run straight to you etc would this apply to geese too?

I'd look at feather condition, and general health - if you can tell them apart, pick the colors that you like the best. Make sure none are limping or have half closed eyes, that sort of thing.

If they're used to people, you could pick the most friendly, but really, sometimes geese aren't friendly to people they don't know. Mine don't appreciate my daughter's friends, but they love her by herself.

It will take awhile for them to acclimate to their new place at 8 weeks old - so when you bring them home they will be more nervous than they will after a few weeks when they have a routine that they understand.
