Getting Goat kids

Another Question.
What are signs of bloat in goats?
I don't have a problem but want to be prepared for it if it happens?
How is it treated ? Is a vet needed or is it easy to fix?
All my Pal says is don't feed them anything other than hay and the kids goat feed..
That's not fun. I like to give them a treat everyday..

Treats are fun but don't introduce too much at once. ♡ My goats like apple and pear slices and leaves, blackberry leaves, bits of carrot and zucchini, willow and bamboo leaves. Limiting/balancing things is key, and feeding grain in the same volume and at the same time everyday. I would never personally give mine bread. Carbs can mess up their rumen.

I'm way more of a natural animal keeper (herbal suppliments and the like) but would definitely make sure they have received their CD-T vaccinations in addition to being dewormed. Usually when I bring a new goat here I asked the other person to give them the dewormer a couple of days before I pick them up so if they do have worms, they poop them out there rather than potentially affecting my property. A friend that was going to veterinary school once told me that once the worms are in your soil, they will always live there and cause potential problems for all of your animals.

I got the plastic cabin yesterday for the kids..
Today my husband isn't working so the pen should be finished. Fancy lets me pet her and cries for me now..

They can, but I worry about them choking on them. Too many episodes of Dr. Pol trying to unchoke a goat. I did feed some last year by breaking them up a bit. Goats will often put the whole thing in their mouths if they can't take a bite of something.

My friend Susan said to break them up. I just have grass hay without much alfalfa so will crush a bunch up for my kids. Fancy is letting me pet her lots..
