Getting more chicks from Ideal!

Okay, I'll pass on the Cherries. I've never had a good experience with RIR. But I definitely want EEs

Does anyone happen to know, if you order say 20-25 EEs from Ideal, will you get 20-25 normal looking brown/gold ones?

I got 2 from McMurray in May and they were both that brown/gold color...one had poofy cheeks, one clean faced. I ordered 2 more from Ideal in Sept and got 2 more that were the same color...so I sold them. I really want some more EEs, but I want several different colored ones...brown/black, brown/blue, white/black, etc. Just not sure how to get them.

I ordered 6 EE's from Cackle last year and they are each a different color, very pretty. They seem to have a good assortment. And I know that at least 3, maybe 4, are laying green eggs so far.

Awww, hmmm maybe I will try Cackle. I am trying to wait til after TSC gets chicks in next month, so I can see what they have. I am hoping they ordered some EEs.

The chances are high all your EEs from a hatchery will be pretty close to the same colors. Flag down some BYC members with EEs and ask for pictures. Buy some eggs

Anyways, i have I think 10 or so maybe 8 that are EE and I got a nice selection. I got white and black ones, golden ones, brownish ones, and some yellowish ones.

I tried the egg thing last fall...justusnak was nice enough to send me a doz for a reduced price due to it being my first attempt. It was a major flop and even though some hatched, only 1 chick lived and it was from an auction egg I tossed in there for fun. I got 13 out of my second hatch, 4 of which were EEs...still waiting on gender, but I haven't had the nerve to buy any more eggs yet. I am on a couple lists (I think) but they won't be sending any til Spring sometime.

I think I might try for shipped chicks if any BYCers are shipping when Spring gets here.

Yep. That's Cedric the EE roo from Justusnak's birds, he was a late bloomer, I thought he was a she until he crowed. I love him
