Getting More Quail

You should definitely have to make sure that you have enough space for two quails and not only one.

How many quail will you get and where are you thinking of housing them this time? The kind of cage you want might depend on whether they will be inside or outside. Do you feel prepared to meet their needs now?

I'm going to copy my general advice from another thread:
  • Keep more than two hens. They need a flock—humans aren't enough.
  • Feed them properly—game bird feed, 24-30% protein, is generally good
  • Treats should be fed minimally so they get enough protein—mealworms and most fruits and veggies are good treats.
  • Give them their space—the more room and enrichment you give them, the more content and safe they will be. A large rabbit hutch would be good for a small indoor flock—if you can give them more room, you should.
  • Clean the cage with a cleanser that won't hurt their lungs or eyes—I like using diluted vinegar for most things. Clean before it begins to smell—if you can smell it, it could be hurting the birds.
