Getting Pair of Exhibtion Rouens Tomorrow!!!

Thanks All

Hoping they'll develop a lot more as they were both late 2010 hatch so still time to bulk up and mature. Link below shows the Rouen winners from our National Show and the bottom duck (which was best of breed) is the mother of our duck.

We bought them from a very well known breeder in UK-John Hall, as exhibition birds so I think they'll both fill their potential. I think the duck has the better type though

Pete, I love a good Rouen. They are always tempting as another project. One of our exhibitors here, when we are both able to show, always says "Let's go see what I've got in the truck". I always look; the eye candy and conversation are great and so far have resisted temptation .

But who knows. Your own look very nice. I would expect as much from John Hall though you are correct in thinking the female is better. That's a good way to go though as so often the female side of things is what haunts you forever. So you might as well be haunted by type and quality. The drakes underline needs to follow the line/length of his back and then swing up towards his tail at the same square angle as the duck does. One breeder describes those underlines as looking as though they've slid down a hill on their arse end! Hopefully they will be productive enough to give you plenty to choose from. And for the person that wants to see those keels touching the ground - that's fine during exhibition season but this guy wants his birds to breed and so they need to be in breeding and not show shape. Good Luck with them.
