i have to ask what is it about me when i get my chicks out to cuddle they will climb on my hand and all 4 of them almost like clock work every time will plop down and poop in my hand this is not a gift i want. there not stressed cuz they climb them selfs onto my hand i just put it under there brest bone and then step up and i bring them out of the cage to tell them how sweet they are and plop warm wet smelly yuck in my hand. is there a way to train them not to do this

They are birds. Not the smartest creatures. They are gonna poop on you. Dont like poop, dont pick em up.

x2...

my 5 yr old son thinks it's hilarious to bring a chick (or 14) or a duckling (or 4) over & plop them all in the middle of my back at once while I'm laying on my bed using my laptop JUST SO HE CAN HEAR ME YELL WHEN I GET POOPED ON!!!!!

Never fails either...I always have at least 1-4 piles on my back & legs before I can unbary myself & escape the little poop machines.

You don't even want to know how many times a day I end up having to either scrub poop off my shirt or change clothes

Actually, you can train them to poop where and when you want, but I doubt you want to go to all that work. It involves observing their pooping habits, then setting them up to poop accordingly, using a clicker to signal them to do it. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/392545/how-to-potty-train-your-chicken

Baby chicks are like human infants - they poop often and wherever they happen to be when they want to poop. As they grow into adult chickens, they won't likely poop on you when you are holding them.

The easiest thing to do when you want to hold your chicks is spread a towel on yourself, and then confine them to the towel.

I used to like to cuddle my baby chicks while I cruised the internet, but after one pooped an especially watery load onto the keyboard, that was the end of that dual activity.
