Happy new year!

What can we give our 8 month RIR pullet Mahalia to gain weight? We took her to a vet yesterday for an oral yeast infection, and the vet said she was underweight. We feed them a good diet of layer pellets, table scraps, free range, mealworms, etc.

Thanks!

Was she eating well with the oral yeast infection?
I am wondering if she will eat more now that she is being healed of the infection.
She was, but there are 3 other pullets with her that may have been stealing her food. She's isolated now for the infection/so we can feed her more and get her weight up.

I would just feed her chicken feed to see if the weight increases. You may want to weigh her and continuously weigh her to see if she is gaining weight. Was her poop normal?

She had some diarrhea yesterday, but that was because of the yeast infection. Other than that, her poop has been normal.

Scratch. High in calories. I feed it every day year round. And mealworms also. 18% Protein Nutrina.

BTW I have two RIR's who weight upwards of 6 pounds 18 months old. My biggest hens. I have all I can do to put them on a high roost.

Thank you! I was worried about too much scratch because we're in Southeast Louisiana and I didn't want their metabolisms to go crazy and overheat them.
