Ok the 2 boys I am showing have been in cages-getting use to confinement.(they are getting spoiled). What about bathing them? when should I do that? day before or couple days before? Not expecting to win but they will be pretty:D One is a salmon faverolle and the other a chantecler. TIA
  2. I would bathe them the day before. Use baby shampoo and after you think you have them rinsed well, put them in a tub of warm water with 2 cups of white vinegar. It will cut all the remaining suds and give them a great shine. We didn't do that last weekend and it cost us Best of Show. The judge said he could see a few feathers underneath that were stuck together with soap residue. Be sure you blow them dry well.

Good luck...just have fun....don't go to win!! [IMG]

Seeing as how they are smooth feathered birds, they should be washed around 4-5 days before the show to give their feathers time to recover.
