Ok the 2 boys I am showing have been in cages-getting use to confinement.(they are getting spoiled). What about bathing them? when should I do that? day before or couple days before? Not expecting to win but they will be pretty:D One is a salmon faverolle and the other a chantecler. TIA

I would bathe them the day before. Use baby shampoo and after you think you have them rinsed well, put them in a tub of warm water with 2 cups of white vinegar. It will cut all the remaining suds and give them a great shine. We didn't do that last weekend and it cost us Best of Show. The judge said he could see a few feathers underneath that were stuck together with soap residue. Be sure you blow them dry well.

Good luck...just have fun....don't go to win!!

Seeing as how they are smooth feathered birds, they should be washed around 4-5 days before the show to give their feathers time to recover.
