Getting Ready to Go!

Hello Everyone! My family and I are new to chickens and working on a suburban homestead! I've been an active gardener and canner for years, and now that we've moved into our new home with a much bigger yard, we've stepped it up a notch and purchased 6 chicks from a local feed store! HOLY COW! We have a small coop for right now while the chicks grow (they are inside right now, with outdoor time when we have nice days!) and next weekend my hubby and I will be finishing the coop addition and run area (pictures to come!) My husband now calls me the Chicken Whisperer, and truth be told, I've fallen in love completely with all the little fur balls.

Meet my girls!
Sookie: EE hatched 3/8/17 (LOOK AT THAT FACE!)

Sprinkes:(front) Speckled Sussex, hatched approx. 3/1/17
