Getting ready to start.

Ok guys I this is the incubator I'm using it's called a 'intelligent mini incubator'. I took the water out off the bottom and put it in a little cup in the centre, I was hoping if I measured the amount of water I put in it might help with the humidity!

By the condensation it appears to be high. What's your calibrated hygrometer tell you?

It's such a small space the moisture coming from the eggs may be all you need. The humidity in enclosed space is adjusted by surface area of water not volume. Why in my full table top Hova bator (holds an auto turner) a double shot glass gives me 35% and a coffee cup and shot glass together is enough surface area to give that space 70%. Just play around with sizes to see what's going to give you 70% for last three days of hatching. I'd bet the eggs alone will keep it around 35% as they are larger duck eggs and its a very small space.

Of course the humidity in your house will be a large factor too. In early spring when hatching I need a humidifier just to keep the house comfortable from dry heat so that's one reason my incubator doesn't need much surface area of water to get desired RH.

Yeah it's too high, don't think six duck eggs will fit lol! Will keep 'experimenting'!

Guys are the eggs mean't to feel so warm?! Seems like I'm cooking them lol!

Guys has anyone a rough idea how much it costs to run the incubator per hatch? My partners having a freak about how much it will be to run lol! It's only a 20W! Also is there a brand that doesn't make a noise!!!!!

Very little. I doubt you'll even see a blip in your electric bill. However the brooding period is where you'll see your bill go up. Use the Mama Heating Pad Cave (Sunbeam XPress heating pad with constant on feature) and you'll save a lot more money than you would using a heat lamp. As far as noise: Got a fridge? Many fridges make as much noise as a bator fan. Tell your partner to take a chill pill.

Brilliant thanks! I must get a meter to keep track!

You'll spend more on the meter than you will on elect.

they should feel 99.5° there abouts, which feels warm to your skin.
Got a calibrated thermometer? Read: Incubating eggs 101 in the learning center. It will answer ?'s you didn't even know you had, and will equip you for a successful first hatch.

Great thanks! Yes all temps seem ok and I only need a 'drop' of water for the humidity! Just didn't expect them to feel so warm! :)
