Getting rid of roosters follow up!

Plymouth Rock is a breed. Barred is one of the colour varieties. There are both bantam and large fowl versions.

Were they asking about the breed, or if your cockerels specifically were "pure" Barred Plymouth Rocks or a cross between that and something else?
They said, “The breeds you mentioned are not typically bantam breeds - are you saying they are crossed with bantams?”

I do have one Bantam EE cockerel and I understand he is a hybrid, but I am under the impression that the Bantam (Barred) Plymouth Rock(s) are a breed; they a heritage breed at that.

I’m hoping they are checking into it on their end. I wanted to check here with folks who know more in case I’m misinformed.

Thank you.

They're on the American Bantam Association's list of recognised breeds and varieties.

Easter Eggers are all hybrids though - they're not a breed whether bantam or large fowl.

Is that one of your birds? You sure it's a cockerel? 🤔
Yes, this picture is a few weeks old and even then before he started crowing all day long compared to the pullet I could tell. He will be 15 weeks old tomorrow. If I can get a good picture of he and clutching today I’ll post. They don’t have the prettiest sickle feathers, but their hackles are well defined. I notice that they have smallish wattles and combs. I’m expecting it’s bc they are young and Bantams.

They are crowing at each other regularly, so even if I was unsure of the look the crow “gives them away.” (bud, ump, bump) 😂

- sorry bad joke, probably even worse translation in print

My Rock Bantam pullet: practically no comb, will be good for her first Maine winter and a new chicken momma- I hope my insulation job is great for them.

Side note, they are really cute, overall petite. The taller and wider one is 18 inches tall when he’s stretching his neck out to spy something interesting. The smaller one thinks I’m his pullet and that’s slightly (again size) annoying but the one in the picture, Wrestler, he’s a treat. Really good bird. I’m sorry he’s so loud. My immediate neighbors would never complain.

If only one goes it’s CloudThinker, the “little” guy.
