Good afternoon chicken lovers!
Today is my first day on the blog and first day with baby chicks!
I've cared for several other types of animals, but am most excited about raising these chicks. My partner has only ever raised a puppy, so we're starting small with 4 RI reds. We have a small 2nd-hand coop right now that will need some repairs before the chicks go outside in a couple weeks.
I'm guessing they are around 2 weeks old.

They are in a large tote right now. I'm hoping to start acclimating them to the outdoors on Wednesday when the temp reaches ~75°.
I've been reading posts for a few days thank you all for the knowledge so far!

Hello, thanks for joining us on the BYC roost! :welcome
Chicks need to be kept warm until they are fully feathered out so I would make sure the temp doesn't go any lower than 75F degrees when you are adapting them to the outdoors.

Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!
