Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

I had someone break into my grandmothers Fiat Uno I was borrowing once. All they had done was go through the ash tray in which I kept a few coins and receipts in. I almost didn't even notice that it had been broken into at first, but once I saw the ash tray had been rummaged through and left on the front seat, I realized why the cover plate of the door lock wasn't aligned with the lock.

The good wife is back on Filipino soil.

My life has been crazy to say the least.

Just a few things that have happened in the last three weeks

The day Mrs Oz was to arrive, my car was stolen. I reported it to the police who said that the recovery rate is 87%. I was quite surprised with that statistic. Just as I figured mine was one of the non-recovered, I received a call from garden grove police. It cost 400 to get the car out of the compound yesterday but it's in good condition. The thieves kept it immaculate - even put in a double USB phones charger and airfresheners.

The ditched my license plates so I have to go and get new ones from the DMV but overall I got out of it not too scathed.

I also had somebody compromise my check account. They used the number to pay a Nordstrom account of $4500. Probably another stolen identity account. They cleaned me out but the bank allowed me to file a claim and reversed charges.

Its been a crazy few weeks
WOW if all that happens when the GOOD wife is in...I'd hate to see things when the BAD wife is in.

Glad you got things taken care of.

Sorry to hear about all of your woes, OZ. I can feel every emotion you had. I had two new pickup trucks stolen over my 70 years. One came back with about $1200 worth of damage. The other one was stripped beyond belief, $14,000 worth of damage.

The bright side is that you have your wonderful wife back home.

Years ago I had a truck stolen on Christmas Eve. I know they were headed South because they used my toll tag at 2:30 in the morning on the tollway, I'm assuming on the way to Mexico because the truck was never recovered. It always made me wonder why, it was a totally stock teal GMC step side. Nothing special. It is an odd feeling walking outside where you KNOW you parked only to find the spot empty.
