Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

bells palsy.... thought I was having a stroke. Nope just a bit of shingles tagged the nerve that controls the left side of my face.

But what they found in the ER is what has me really under the weather. High BP and a UTI.... Bp meds made me drop twelve pounds of water weight in four days.... So needless to say I am a bit wobbly.

UTI meds kiked butt.... I finish the viral meds today.... I am sleeping alot. All good

WEnt to weight watchers tonight and have lost a total of seventeen pounds and change. I will take that.

So for now... No salt No Alchahol and lots of water. till the BP is stabilized.

Good grief miss Deb! You've had a burden for sure! I had shingles 3 years ago...no fun I'll tell ya. I hope that and the bells palsy has passed. I come from a family of high blood pressure. I now take Norvasc and have absolutely no side effects. It works wonders on me. Its a type of calcium blocker. After you're rid of the excess fluid, you may ask your dr about it. I'm very pleased with it. I'm dealing with a 2 cm kidney stone right now. Too big to pass. Ugh. All I've done larely is chicken farm. Grin. You get better fast! And I know many of us will keep you in our thoughts.

Perchie, the good news is that we mammals inherit our hearts from our mothers along with the mitochondria. Had the shingles when I was taking chemo. And because I had the chickenpox twice I got it down both arms instead of just one. My arms and hands swelled up like Popeye and I was oiling my skin so it would stretch and not split. Finally, the shingles started breaking out on the surface and the swelling went down. But you had it in your face....

Wow! At least the nerves in your face will come back in about 8 months. I had a ewe that my ram hit in the face with his horns and it hit the main nerve on her left side. It took about 8 month to regenerate. Hang in there.

Quote: I love the new Weight Watchers.... I am a lifetime member.... Awesome program I re started this last summer and have been struggling.... Now I know why I was hitting that door over and over and over again. The goal is to lose about 220 pounds. As of today I have lost 36.8. When I get in the 200s. I will be able to work on chicken coops.

Ever hopeful.

Knock on wood the face is getting twitchy. I can shut my left eye if I shut both eyes. So I now dont have to put goo in to keep my eye from drying out.... The nurse said four to six weeks is common and I am in the 97 percent range of being succsessful. But I have no dilusions it could take as much as a year.

I am doing OK. Learned how to drink out of a water jug without dribbling it all down my chest... Thats an important one too.

OH Gawd Mitochondria... Mom is a fruit loop....
