Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Oz Somewhere I read about pre incubating eggs to be shipped. on the order of like three days then chill them down and ship them. Its a vague memory because It wasn't on my plate at the time but I thought Hmmm.... It might be worth an experiment with your twice shipped eggs because think about it they get shipped to you even at last minute they then get repackaged and re shipped.

I will dig up the article..... if you think you might want to give it a read.

Yes an easy way would be just to date the eggs and incubate, keeping track of the %hatched versus their age. You may also find that some breeds/types do better than others when held for longer periods. ah, Research! Another excuse to run the 'bator!
Excuses? We dont need no stinking excuses!

We should have pullet eggs from the first immigrants in 6 weeks! Bernie is building the Coturnix cages and putting the divide down the main coop in preparation for our second hatch. People were appalled when I said that we are eating the roosters from the first hatch and want us to sell them or swap them for local chickens to eat, I guess we have a market developing!
In 50 years they'll tell of a small seaside town in the Philippines that has strangely large chickens...

Wow. Jealous of all your hatchings! Your going to LOVE the Bourbon turkeys. And the jersey giants! I had to order some Buckeyes eggs, I just couldn't stand it anymore. !
