Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Twas a great Sunday. Between rain, power outages and an escapee boar we had lots of laughs and managed to get a good chunk of the coops done.

I took some great pics that I will post when I can.

Yippee! Can't wait for photos!

Its 4am on my last day at the farm. We leave for Bacolod at 2. Its instructions day.

Yesterday we hired the sponsored student. Aljay is 18 and seems very sharp. Let's hope he runs with the opportunity.

We will finish up tree planting, layout the piggery and inventory supplies before heading off.

Sir Oz,

A Blessed, Peaceful,Happy New Year to you, your family circle, & friends &neighbors out there.

Roli

Thank you.

The queen has yet to knight me so just plain Oz is fine

I am now on Bacolod for the night and a 4am airport run.

Happy New Year to all. May the eggs you eat be double yolkers and those you hatch be pullets.

Hello and happy New Year from a lurker that just finished 481 pages (two weeks).
Oz left a message about the need for Australorp eggs on the Australorp thread and I have been reading about his life ever since. My ability to provide the number of eggs that Oz requires with two pullets takes my flock out of a flight to the Philippines. Most of my eggs are too cold anyway. My new incubator is going to be turned on in six weeks. There five silkie pullets in my flock, one that is trying to raise a family, two eggs (BA) might be fertile.
My wife and I have experienced a little of the island life with 30 months on Guam in the early 70s, that island is in the path of a lot of typhoons and last I heard is having a snake infestation.
Oz, you need to get those kids working for Philippine airlines so you can have reduced cost travel to CocoBeach but that will be 25 years away.
There is another organization that helps with the devastation following natural disasters: http://www.samaritanspurse.org/ My friends and I have helped that organization with packing shoe boxes for Christmas presents to children around the world and have met Franklin Graham the founder of Samaritans Purse and son of Billy. Please consider one of their mission trips after you help Oz.

John
