Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

How does Aussie football actually work? Isn't that the thing played on a round field with rugbyish rules? Or is it more like real football (Not the Merkan "foot"ball you play with your hands)?
Sorry mate, we keep how it works a bit of a secret lol.

it was played on cricket grounds originally 4 posts - a goal is through the center posts and scores six, a "behind" is between the outer posts or touched between center posts and scores a single.

No passing like rugby, ball must be punched or kicked, no running more than 15 meters. a ball that ta caught from a kick is a "mark" and you get to kick from the position without interference.

I think I'll stick to watching hockey

Darn Ruskies beat us in the World Cup final on Sunday. You should of seen what people were saying, "Putin bribed the referees". Hockey really is taken seriously around here, at least when it's the Olympics or the World Cup. And soon it's time to enjoy the football WC from Brazil.

I do have to admit, I've started to watch the Superbowl the past few years, and I've actually gone from thinking "This is a stupid game played by violent idiots" to actually appreciating, and sometimes even almost understanding the game, so maybe I'll need to find a channel that shows Aussie football as well. Oh, and I tried cricket at work last Summer, loads of Indians working there, it actually seemed like quite a bit of fun. Then we taught them to play "Mölkky", a silly game enjoyed by intoxicated Finns at their cottages during the Summer. I think one reason why Aussies and Finns tend to get a long quite well is that the Aussies have usually consumed about the same number of Foster's as Lapin Kulta's enjoyed by the Finns. Of course the Aussies tend to pass out earlier, they do after all say "Have you Finished yet?".

I drove out to the farm on my own early this morning. We finally moved the pigs. Boy did they perform. They were perfectly comfortable in their safe environment and did not want to leave through the gate. They could not even be bribed with food.

Eventually a bag over the head and they were pushed.

We will candle in a few hours. I am looking forward to the results with the usual anxiety caused by shipped eggs.

Remember, pigs can be escape artists. My better half did a two week internship at a pig farm. They had one sow who used to open her enclosure and go wandering about the place. She always returned after a while, but still. She could come say hi to you when you where in a completely different part of the piggery.

So glad you had a great date night...and HECK YA spoil that little girl!

Moving pigs can sure be a challenge. We found using a couple of pig boards or using a bottomless cage to drop around them and walk them in works sometimes - but "sometimes" often times isn't enough, lol.

Ah the eggs.

I just did a quick look as I got bogged down on a separate issue.

I am using a Supa-dupa flash light that let's you see through blue eggs like they are white. I saw lots of beyond in the leg bars and even the pheasant.

We will do a full candle at 10 days and cull but so far out looks like a promising hatch.

I can't believe I still have 16 days in country. Normally I am getting back on a plane by now.

I must be getting acclimated. I feel asleep on top of the bed totally exhausted at 8pm. I woke up at 4am so cold I turned off the ac and had a hot shower to warm up

Those CREE LED's are nice. Let's hope for loads of strong fuzzybutts.

Any volcanic ash disrupting air-travel there yet?

(Acclimated or geriatric?
