I hadn't heard of ice plants before, but they look pretty.
The ones my mom used to grow looked sort of like multicolored daisies, but they have these clear droplet looking things all over them, like they're covered in frost. So cool.

For the most part ice plant here is used as a ground cover to ward off weeds erosion and fire. Very drought tolerant.
Hmmm I used to work in a garden shop Aeons ago. Now that I am reading more about iceplant so far I havent found one that is not edible...
oh and there are two kinds.... Carprobotus Edulis has smooth pickle shaped leaves and Aizocea which is the kind that has a few sub species with the cleary droplet looking things. Aizocea has 1600 different species. (info out of Wikipedia)
