thanks. i have spent the last few days looking into them. i was thinking it may be interesting to have a dozen meaties produced each year; they are pretty good eating from all reports

Sparkle and her four chicks! Last one hatched overnight. These are from eggs I pilfered from my flock; I deliberately chose two green eggs and two light brown eggs from the bantams. Didn't want poor Sparkle to have to raise chicks which might tower over her before she was done mothering them.
