I love your story, Oz! You'll win for sure! Wow!

Great story Oz.

Just to make ya think about your list, here are some pics of Dark Cornish I have. Slow to mature but they came from England years ago also known as Indian Game. All hatchery stock

Here's the Roo

And here's the coloring of a hen

Right now smaller than the BR and RIR I have but very pretty and they are supposed to be pretty good at flock defense. Not so much in demand

And just for giggles here's Fred

Here's one of my EE Roo's

thanks. i have spent the last few days looking into them. i was thinking it may be interesting to have a dozen meaties produced each year; they are pretty good eating from all reports

This is AWESOME, Squeaky!

Now I'm going to take a moment to share some info because I am a suddenly excited 59 year old curmudeoness:
At least one of the five flock eggs I put under Sparkle, my recently acquired house silkie, started peeping when I checked for pips. Tomorrow is Day 21. (No external pips yet.)

I am so excited!

It's not like it's my first broody or anything, but it IS the only one I've had right in the house... Plus, Sparkle is special.

Okay, everybody in the flock is special. Miss Sparkle is just specialer.

Sparkle and her four chicks! Last one hatched overnight. These are from eggs I pilfered from my flock; I deliberately chose two green eggs and two light brown eggs from the bantams. Didn't want poor Sparkle to have to raise chicks which might tower over her before she was done mothering them.
