Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

thanks for the well wishers.

yesterday was brutal.

I managed to get to the southern end of Bacolod in s brush 2 hours. it then took 90 minutes to pay $30 change fee on a plane ticket.

I then went to Citi Hardware in Tangub - close by - to get the 6 pieces of roofing. I then heard my most feared local expression "no stocks". Off to the branch on the north side of town.

it took 1 hr to drive 7 km

I got the supplies quickly once I arrived. A quick bite next door and off to the bank.

2 hours to drive 4 km

I managed to take 2 wrong turns which put me into drivers hell on a good day.

Forty five minutes in the back having documents signed and notarized then off home.

3 more hours.

8 hours of driving, 3 hours of noon-vehicular interaction. home at 8pm

I did not turn the windshield washer blades off the entire 8 hours in the car. the storm is amazing.

at least I made it alive so I had one more night cuddling my kids.

Its 549am.

We need to leave CocoBeach by 12 midday.

I just have a few things to do.

We can't put a roof on during a hurricane so we just have to wait on that.

I have to take chickens to the airport with me. they will transfer in manila to the Loag flight - to the far north of the country.

the tropical storm seniang turned south west overnight and will pass right over us at midday.

we have 60-80km/hr winds and torrential rain.

we postponed bird shipping and will allow an extra 2 hours to get to the airport. Bacolod should not have such severe weather as the storm will pass 120km south of the airport.

its going to be a long day

be safe oz

I got to Bacolod airport a little early. all planes are delayed and mine will miss connection to LA.

I got on the late flight before mine. I will arrive in manila 30 minutes early.

all is good...

we accomplished a lot this trip.
