See if you can work out a way to get eggs into Australia
in a golf bag! lol
I checked out the regulations.
4. EGG COLLECTION AND TRANSPORT
a) The eggs shall be collected, indelibly marked and dispatched under the supervision of a
Government Veterinary Officer of the country of export. The eggs shall undergo fumigation or
disinfection and then shall be packed and sealed in air-tight, leak-proof containers for transport to
Australia.
b) The eggs shall be packed in such a way that there will be no leakage in the event of the
eggs breaking during transport.
c) The eggs must be consigned to Australia by air, by a route approved by AQIS. They
may be accompanied in transit by other eggs or birds only with the approval of AQIS. Any
transhipment requires the prior approval of AQIS.
d) In the event of a consignment arriving in Australia in an unsealed container, or in a
container the seal of which has been broken, or with inadequate certification, the consignment may
not be permitted entry into Australia.
and thats just the transport regs. you should see the rest!!
doing it legally is basically impossible for a back yarder.
doing it illegally is not worth the risk - especially to oz - they take their inspections very seriosly. We used to get fumigated sitting on a plane before we could get off at kingsford smith or tullamarine!!
I have been know to bring the odd steak frozen turkey or cheese to the Phils but they would just confiscate those if found
basically with eggs for the Phils I need to get a permit before I ship, have a pre-approved quarrantine room to hatch and brood that is isolated and test if the vet comes. Its $2 per egg for the whole shabang!
