Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Thanks so much.

I need to really work on the website. I have a few ideas but getting down to completing it will take a few straight hours.

I have been sidetracked with an Android app for chicken math.................

Tips for the aneroid apps...
Roosters don't count they are called groceries
Eggs don't count either, their warehouse stock & supply
Chicks are research and development so they cant count.
only something that lays an egg counts.
Pullets...just a trainees until she lays...
then don't forget that there are three chickens to every 1 person on the world average.
so oz.. you have in your house
You
Mrs oz
The twins
the nanies
Bernie
and Mrs. Bernie
So to be "average" you need 24 laying hens... but your not average... who wants to be average? You better double that atleast. 48 hens...then some grocies, warehouse supply trainees, etc. Just to make sure you don't fall behind the average.

you are going to have a lot of chickens soon. you are doubling up every 21 days lol
1 bator will be a hatcher & the other with turner will be for "cooking them" for the required 18 days

now i can do a split hatch so if customers wants a breed i can load em up & hatch on demand

well time to hit the rack for me OZ
take care

Another aspect of Chicken Math is the putative first step: I think I'd like some chickens - four should do it. Maybe six. But eight come home; they're pretty small and don't take up any space at all in that paper bag on the passenger seat.

Then one dies. Well, ya gotta replace it. Crap - can't buy just ONE - not only will it be lonely in the paper bag on the way home, and possibly bullied by the original seven, but LOOK - there are different breeds in the feed store than were there on the first trip!

Buying a buddy for the replacement chick brings the home flock - still in the brooder - up to nine. Nine. Hmmm. That's an odd number, can't have that; what if the "odd" chick gets picked on when they choose sides in chick games?

Okay, three chicks. To replace one.

And so it goes.

As the flock matures, advanced Chicken Math - Chickonometry? - detailed so accurately by Cayuse Ranch, kicks in.
