Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

we were worried that our orps would not show up on time, so glad they did

as far as poop goes i myself would try to not ship poop covered eggs
however i never wash an egg. maybe some sandpaper to scuff if off would work
but washing can harm the little guy inside :(
no reason for there to be any mud though
soulds like a p*ss poor coop & run area
& hens that need to be trained to lay in the nest boxes not in the mud.

have a safe flight, give the kids lots of hugs

Good morning

Well today is the day.

I awoke to an email from the airline which informs me that my departure time is pushed back 4 hours. That means that the plane will fly non-stop rather than refuel in Guam. Arrival time will be the same. They cant depart earlier because the staff ar Manila Airport dont get in til 530 am.

Hope the day goes smoothly for you and your golf bag.

Best wishes and look forward to hearing from you when your settled in. Some pics of the set would be sweet too.

Have a great Easter with the family.

Have a great trip, Oz and enjoy your lovely family. Good luck with the peeps!

Just out of curiosity, do you have to be concerned with how much oxygen the eggs get when shipping? I don't imagine the embryos need all that much at this stage, but would wrapping them up in plastic bubble wrap harm them? Seems there is a combination of art and science to transporting eggs, not to mention hatching.
This is a great idea, bad execution.

Instead of laying them down in the box as shown, they need to be stood on end so the the fat end is up.

I have though about this - as the embryo is in a state of arrested development, the O2 demands would be berry low - there are not even veins to carry the ot back to the embryo. I would still have a single for each egg though.

Thanks for the well wishes

Look what I found...

I had do admit I was half confident they would be in my travel satchel. I got home, went to it an no passports. Panic mode hit. I called my housekeeper, Cecelia. "in the underwear drawer Mr Oz"

Thank God for all the people who keep me on the straight path.

The airline called. What I thought was a delay departure due to a change in routing to non-stop turns out to be a change in time because the plane left Manila 4 hrs late. This means that I will miss my connecting flight and will be delayed in Manila 4 extra hours.

With these quick trips, I measure time with my family in minutes. 240 minutes of smiles. cuddles and chat is huge.

Mrs Oz will be disappointed.

Time to start packing.

So glad you found those passports! You had us worried! Enjoy every minute
