Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

After last night with the in laws and lunch with the duck man I hit a jet lag wall. Not much got done this afternoon. I just hung out with the kids.

I will have to get amongst it by 6 am to catch up on the to do list.

Mrs Oz has one of her best friends and bridesmaid flying in tomorrow. She will make the trek to the airport and take her friend out for dinner before coming home late tomorrow night.

Its going to be a sore butt week for my wife.

Cherished Moments Hanging with the Kids.

Hurray, let's hear it for madmen buying surplus roosters

Hadn't been on in a while. Finally somewhat caught back up... skipped reading some of Sept & Oct because I HAD to find out what happened with the typhoon in Nov...

Hope you get a little rest, Oz! Frankly I don't know how you keep up at the pace you do when you travel. But glad you've had some time with the kids!!

I have a lot of help.

Right now we have 4 guys in addition to Bernie helping and the two welding guys start at 8.

My goal us to start the projects and then hand them off. Things like vaccinations I do myself but Bernie will take over after this trip. Electrical work I always do myself.

Personally today it will be the pigs and making gates. Additionally I have to replace an electrical outlet.

Tomorrow I will attempt to make a mixing drum for the feed mix and work on the dehumidifier for the newly closed of incubator room in the egg house.

One of the issues with traveling like I do is swollen feet - something that worsens with age. The trip home had my feet down for 30 hrs add the sudden warmth and the body's urge to conserve water, I end up with several liters of edema. When I get into my nice air conditioned room, I off load fluid allnight.

Now you sound like an old fashioned guy like I am, I will trust a lot of jobs to other people, BUT not any electrical work that me or mine have to live with!!

Scott

Indeed. Most people are scared of electrical work and if they don't understand the principal the have no business playing with it.

I just replaced the relay and driving lights on the car. A hit and run motorcycle took out the ones we had installed originally. I had a spare pair of 100 watt Hella lights here.

I don't like Mrs Oz driving at night without a good set of spotties as there are minimal road work signs and lots of surprises.
