Wonderful pictures again, Oz!! No - I don't thing any of us will grow tired of them!

Especially when some of us are in the middle of a deep freeze spell. Looking at all that warm green is wonderful.

Mrs Oz is on her way back to bacolod with the car, trailer, kids and nannies.

Here are some updates on the coop progression

a close up of the bamboo "amacan"

the roof is about 50% complete. following the thatch will be a grid of split bamboo to stabilize it in the wind as the onshores hit it directly. it should be completed tomorrow

the plywood sheathing and amacan being fitted to the back and front. nice finishing touches to the native look

i am hoping that the roof, walls and pen framing is completed tomorrow now that bernie is back to lend a hand. by tuesday the egg boxes will be finished and wednesday its chook sorting.

Awesome pix OZ.... Hey can you grow Vanilla?

we bought some in southern Mexico that claimed to be locally grown....saw wild orchids growing in Costa Rica "Cloud Forest" (along the mountain ridge where the clouds were almost constant....Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania has a lot of varieties of orchid, that place is a gardeners visual candy store.

Did a quick search Vanilla bean Orchids are a vine.... can get up to three hundred feet long. Pollination is done by hand.... They are native to Mexico. Processing the beans are quite labor intensive...
