Getting the flock out of here - a diary of a crazy chicken man

Australians, well at least those of my generation, dont take Valentines Day very seriously. I was schooled very quickly by my romantic Asian wife.

So for the last 19 Valentines day's I have tried do do something different. One year we went to the Lucha Libre Mexican wrestling and burlesque show. That was a trip. I have a blue and silver wrestling mask from the concession stands. With a little effort you can find a myriad of different adventures and cultural experiences. Its all about jumping into life.

These days its a bit tough as I have to pick my holidays to be together and Valentines day is not a public paid holiday so the good wife gets a few doz roses. This year she will be in Bali hanging out with Balinese royalty.
How cool! I usually get the 90% off Valentine's Day leftover stuff from the grocery store. Not complaining, though! Valentine's Day has always just been my horse's birthday (for the last 17 years at least). Random, maybe, but… his registered name was originally Ben Pixy Valentine. The people who had him before me changed it to Ben Neckin' Around. Can you imagine how embarrassing that is to 12 year old girl when it gets announced at a horse show? Should've just used his barn name, Valentine!

Beautiful photos, Sally!

I use IrfanView to modify my photos. You can download it for free. You open a photo, highlight the place you want to put text, hit Edit > Insert Text, (pick your font, size and color, and voila! I usually just put a small watermark in a bottom corner, but you can make it as large as you want, and put it anywhere you want.
