i'll be sending a care package on the 24th
maybe you can get your roo
hell a few to choose from would be even better
but 1 is better than nothing

something i have found out the hard way, roosters can just fall over dead
best to have a "back up boy" if you can
even if he just hangs out with other "unmarried" roosters in their own pad
Indeed

I have no plans on eating any of the 1st generation blue bloods

I would rather have them with a few mutts

Gotta figure though, if you need A LOT of different breeds and you can get them all from the same place, you can save a bunch on shipping. Also, some eggs are worth paying more for.... I don't personally know much about standard, but for example some folks on here can easily charge $20+ for a chick because they're quality birds.. others can only get $5.

And seeing Oz needs a bunch, he can probably work a deal

Papa has decent birds but he does not reduce prices.

Most of my best birds are gift eggs. I have Frank Reece barred rocks, Horstman RIR, Foley BCMs in amongst my birds. There is a mohawk RIR teenager and Andalusians from show champions

Then there are the SFH coming from OGM possibly Salmon Favs from HFR and maybe Basques from LaPalma Chicks - I gifted them the parent stock lol

I stopped the FF during the summer and sold all the little stinky birds, not for me, I need meat, like big chicken breastesses, juicy white meat. I am spoiled
Id be interested in seeing some cornish x rocks fed ff......I gave crumbles and a local grain mix from the co-op the last 2 weeks. They had a really nice layer of fat.

When I harvested mine, I bet the breast was 2"+ thick. It was way bigger than my hand, now mind you I am only 5'8" but I do have some pretty thick hands. Dang it your gonna have me ordering meaties again sally

a mutt "can" still produce a large bird that is good for the table

Marily & I will send off your late Christmas gift before you head back over there

with a little luck you will have a few more peeps to grow out
