how are you a climbing 80 ft coconut trees?

better act fast. email resumes

I am interviewing candidates on Friday

1st couple is local - two kids 4 and 6. can climb cocnut trees and do some carpentry

I also got a text on my phone from a girl who is a fourth year agri-business college student lookinf for on the job traning - she would graduate in April.

If I can get these birds producing and hatching I may even have need for that kind of person by mid next year.

A big if.....

Can the agri-business college take over local management? The agricultural universities that I drive by appear to be well managed by someone that is not the owner. just thinking................................

No - thats not an option.

A fourth year college studet is just 20 i the Philippines. It would take a lot of on the job training to have them running the business.

I am impressed that this girl found our web presence and contacted me. Great initiative but.......

She is a pretty 20 year old girl from a town that would take two ferries and many many hours in a bus to get home to see mum.

Call me sexist - but a lonely pretty 20 year old girl living in is a land mine on a farm like ours.

I actually have nothing against a pretty 20 something year old girl to to marketing and maintain the business side of the place - just not one that is 36 hours from home, speaks a different language at home that would have to live with married men working away from home.

The local couple will hopefully be a good fit. The barn where I used to board my horse had the same problems with keeping barn help. They had a couple of living quarters available on the farm. The most reliable workers had a wife and kids with them to support. The least were single and young and they didn't have the isolation factor that you have on the island.

I met a colonel in the Air Force... When touring, he would hire the ugliest house keepers in the town... Said, "it saved him from countless problems"......

The white cream Legbar sports are recessive white. Not sure if that would work for you though.

I believe the very first batch of eggs from me (long long time ago) produced a white bird that you thought may be a leghorn (you had a mystery white chick in your hatch I seem to remember and the eggs had not been separated ideally for hatching).

There were also one or 2 other legbar chicks that hatched. Both had a white father so carry white.

Those birds disappeaed from the posts so maybe they did not make it

They were part of the grow out pen thatwas attacked by cats. The surviving white birds are brown and white egg layers.

It looks like I am going to get a chance with some Ameraucanas and A few legbars this trip afterall. I have Bernie hatching so provided he hangs around, I may still have a chance.

I meant from summer 2013. Before the lot that were taken by the cats.
Guess they are long gone.

Anywho ... Good to hear you got some eggs.

We has a cat get into the coop when Bernie was there - it got 4 birds - the legbars and orps.

Bernie ate the cat and cat proofed the coop.

The mega losses were Dominics - after he started drinking

I am supposed to have 24 CL eggs coming - I hope they get here OK.
I also have 24 Ameraucanas and 24 Bresse.

It will be interesting to see if the Bresse are indeed white recessive.

LOL

Our first housekeeper was employed sight unseen - from recommendation of friends - she arrived without her two front teeth.

Our soon departing couple were hired after interview with just the husband. The wife, a thin lass, was into wearing clothes that were what I would call a size too small. She was given scrubs to wear.

I dont care about looks - My goals are a clean room, reasonable food and my stuff staying my stuff.

I did not mean the 20 year old girl, I was thinking about the college staff managing your business and using your facilities to teach students. (probably to far away from the college).
