I know females can get combs too, depending on the breeds, but can they get them faster than males sometimes? I've got a bunch of GLW Xs that i thought for sure were females, they feathered super fast except one- boy, right? He's got about half the feathers they do at 4 weeks. But now the 'females' are all getting combs and he doesn't have anything at all... and then i've got others who i thought were females who don't have a comb... ?? Should i post pics of them all for your guys to look at? I've got a bunch...

Pictures are always helpful

Pictures are really helpful, and I've noticed the gender questions get more traffic/responses on the "What breed/gender am I?" subforum.

I'm still just starting out, so I'm going to just sit back and see what the experts say.

Ok, they were being very uncooperative for this!

I tried to show their back for feathering and their heads. Sorry I couldn't get the pics to shrink down.

Now in this one, i think the dark one is a boy

and this is a boy, maybe? it got its feathers fast like the others did, and has a big tail, but has the same feathering pattern as the other one i think i s a boy.

There might be someone who can tell by feather colors, but not me. It would seem that your assessment of "the dark one" with the dark comb as a boy is most likely correct. Sometimes seeing legs helps too, as the boys tend to be thicker usually. Sometimes the body stance helps.

Edited for typo...I have got to do a better job of reading before posting...

Maybe the experts will know. That second picture from the bottom.....well I've never seen anything like that before. It's comb is so wide,it must be a double comb. In fact, I can see two distinct sets of ridges, bumps, whatever you want to call them, them the red in the middle.
