nothing much, he will be Mostly Barred(almost all black with barring and some golden feathers leaking thru) both breed share similar size and body type, look for the one that looks most like DelawaresOk sounds good what should i be lookin for in my F1 roo. thanks cory
Tim i have a question for you. What is the reason your are breeding F1s to each other and not F1roo to NH hens? Thanks cory
thats not correctIf you breed the F1 black barred male to the Red hens you will get Red barred progeny.
Jeff
The F1s are all black barred you have to breed the F1 back to each other to get the Del(silver male) to use back over the NH dams.
Jeff
Incorrect..If you breed the F1 black barred male to the Red hens you will get Red barred progeny.
Jeff
I dont quite get your statement.. F1 roosters is as good candidate to create Delaware patterned birds as a F2 silver barred rooster..Marvin You have to have a silver male(sport) to create the Delaware pattern/Silver barred columbian. F1/half barred and half red columbian are all black barred(heterozygous barring)
