Getting two different eggs from my "welsh harlequin" flock

IMG_1638.JPG

These are my 9 week old Welsh Harlequin ducks that I got from a breeder of only Welsh Harlequin ducks. Please tell me that these look like silver phase Welsh Harlequin ducks.

Can't wait for the welsh harlequin to get bigger and start laying then it's duck for dinner for the other males.

I'm not interested in any non-welsh harlequin males mating with the welsh harlequin females.

I haven't seen the older ducks mate yet but put 7 eggs in the incubator and all are fertilized. I don't know what breed they are but they are amazing foragers. They don't eat any feed in the morning , just go straight to foraging while I put out a small scoop of feed that the WH's devour. That's all I feed and they free range all day. They are getting big and look healthy and are laying so they must be finding tons of bugs.

Is it unusual that the two flicks haven't really merged? They sleep in the same pen but otherwise hang out separately as two different flocks.

Just beautiful Welshies!! You know, that blue band on the wings really pops when you take them out into the sunshine. The metallic color just reflects sunlight like you wouldn't believe.
Really good girls. Congrats!
