Welsh Harlequin Raspy Voice Female; 4 Weeks old

Male ducks will not start getting a raspy voice until they’re around 8 - 10 weeks old, so I doubt the rasp is related to gender.

It won’t let me view the videos you linked; it says they’re still being uploaded.

It won't let me view the videos either. Can you post a picture of your duckling? I could tell my drake apart from the females pretty early just by looking at the feather pattern.

I thought so too but I have seen that some can change weirdly early. I personally have never had drakes but I’ve had friends tell me theirs sometimes even peep differently. :idunno

Me too.

I’ve certainly had voice changes happen early. Like, I’ve had hens start peep-honking as early as 10 days old.
I’ve also had drakes peep-honk for a few days before going right back to their baby peeps. Never had drakes rasp early, though, only after they’re fully feathered.

Here is a photo of her, I’ll try get a photo of her back feathering, she does have darker brown on the back but no brow on the chest like welsh harlequin drakes, she is also not pure Welshie, so might be a bit more darker and speckled brown more.

She’s been lying in the dirt lol

That’s her back, you can see wing feathers are darker brown. But mostly she is white

So do you think it might be from the neck? When she does peep its almost like she's trying to get that little quack out (as said before the others have started to peep/quack) not the long, raspy voice of a drake.
