Ghost stories!.

while my mom was home alone she heard the front door slam. then a quickly footsteps up the staires. as she walked up staires looking for someone she found no one was there.

While my mom. and her 3 brothers were sitting around the table a ash-tray (glass) randomly split down the middle.

another story of my own..

i was about 4.. at the time. living in that same ol' house as before. me and my brother were running through the house playing. As randomly a ash-tray is thrown pretty much 3-4 feet away from where it was sitting and shattered on the floor with no one touching it... As you can tell though. we were sent to our room (I also think i remember that being the same night as the Red eyes in the closet).

Then (just remembered this one). a few weeks ago now.. I was kind of hungry. and went to the refridgerator to see if we had anything to eat.. Next thing i know. i see a red object fly past my head and land on the floor about 4 feet behind me.. It was the liter from on top of the refridgerator.. I dont know if this would be "paranormal".. I may have shook the fridge somehow. but its still interesting no?..

Several experiences here in my family.

When I was a baby, still in the crib (about a year old) my mom had my brother who died at birth. After that, mom said that she could hear baby footsteps going across the floor and she knew it wasn't me because I couldnt walk yet. Then something pulled on the blankets of the bed and she felt something lay down. About a year after that, my mom had my sister, who, also didnt make it. At that time all the sounds stopped. To this day, she says that my brother was lonely and after my sister died, he wasnt lonely any more. Mom had my other brother and sister many years later.

We moved into a old house build in 1890's when I was 8. My dad worked years on fixing up the house, remodeling it, taking out walls etc. I swear I used to see a woman go down the stairs sometimes when I would wake up during the night. When I was about 14-15, I do not remember if it was before or after my dad left us, we used to hear strange noises. My brother used to be scared to sleep with the lights off, and I never liked the house either, it really creeped me out. Mom saw a shadow coming up the stairs one night when she was reading my brother a bedtime story but she didnt want to scare him so she ignored it but told me downstairs. We would get a cold chill sometimes in the kitchen, and the basement terrified me. One night, we heard the sound of the dryer running in the basement. It was not right as the basement power was connected to the lights, that turned on at the top of the staircase and all lights were off.

After that when I was 16-17 and my brother was about 8 my brother and me used to sleep in bed with mom (after my dad left) because our rooms scared us.

It was at that time, as a teanager, that my friends and I started to mess with crazy witchcraft stuff. We once used a Ouija bored (playing around) and we got scared and put it away. We walked next door to an auto shop and got a pop from the vending machine. When we came back, the cover was off and the board was out.

My boyfriend at the time lived in another city and I was over there a lot. We did a lot of "spells" and stuff. We messed with the board, we were into crystals and things like that. I once heard him speak in some strange language I couldnt identify as his dog went beserk. There was this one time, I will never forget, that me and him and about 2 of his friends were on his water bed (queen) and one friend on the floor. We were doing stuff we shouldnt have been and the friend sitting on the floor, wigged out. Don't know if he got possessed or what but he pushed the waterbed, about a foot across the floor which was impossible for a teenage kid, and a large waterbed, with 4 kids on it and the fact his room was carpeted.
Eventually, we broke up, thank god now as who knows where I would be now!

This is an interesting one...

When I was 6 my Mom decided she wanted to open an antique shop. She found an old post office building that was built in the 1800's. It was going good and she was making money.
There was an upstairs and a downs stairs. The upstairs was for us kids. We have been there for a few weeks when we had stuff happening. The pictures were moved and taken off the walls and we kept hearing creaking noises. Well it was one night when I was upstairs and I kept seeing black shadows move across me. Well it was late at night and I was just heading down stairs to go home. Then I hurd foot steps behind me...coming closer and closer. I got to the stairs and something brushes me and made me shiver. I was so scared I pratically just slid down the stairs...
Well anyways we were there for 5 years and we kept experiencing stuff like that. I never stayed up there by myself after that... Oh by the way we named the spirit Homer

After we left and moved out of there, somebody else moved there. And they started to redo everything, knocking down walls ect... and I guess it disturbed the spirit and it started to haunt the people living there. An old guy was sleeping in the same room I was staying in. He told us that he was experiancing a spirit paceing around the room and actually walking through the bed. He said he could feel it go through him and it was constant every night while he was in there. And it look like an eary form of an old man.
After that he never spent the night in that room again.

Now this one is from a close friend that lived right next to our store. She said she went to a yard sale and bought a couple things for her house as decorations. She bought a specific item that actually possed a spirit and it was attached to this specific item. Well she didnt actually know this but anyways. Things started happening after about a week. I am guessing the spirit was surprised by its move and didnt like where it was at so it started to haunt them..
Specifically it would pace back and fourth down stairs. Well it was at night and she wanted a munchy in the kitchen and she felt like she was being fallowed and she felt the spirit was behind her. She finally after a few weeks told the spirit that it needs to move, not to haunt people and finally be happy. A conversation with it. well it left and never came back

Then other people will think your crazy.
Which is ok. They can believe what they want.
The truth is out there, waiting to be discovered

I read all these and I am shivering too! DT you seem to be really into this stuff! So cool! I wish I could be, but I get really scared. I can't watch any scary movies of any kind, I get so freaked out. I don't get nightmares, I just think there are things in my room at night. I know people my age [13] do dumb stuff but I would never touch a oiijy or whatever board. I can' go on haunted hay rides or anything. Or be outrside alone at night. I do sometimes watch paranormal state and such. Kurt-I think you are talking about the show called Hauntings on Discovery channel, I watch that sometimes too. BTW, there is a super old super cool prison out here, it is called the West Virginia State Penitentury. It looks like a very old castle. I have tooken 2 tours through it. [it is not in use of course] It has had more people die on it per acre than almost anywhere else. 9 electric chair deaths, 80 some hangings, and hundreds of suicides and murders. So loads of ghost activity. It is wicked cool. There is a long waiting list, but you can stay there overnight with a group and go ghost hunting! I really want to go, I think it would be awesome. Scary though. I don't have very many ghost stories though. Well here is one that isn't really scary, but kind of cool.
It was Christmas time at the house we moved from a year and a half ago when I was a wee little baby. We had a very large Christmas tree, it had a fuzzy Santa topper and touched the chandelier that was up there. Well it was night time and the chanderlier was on. The Santa topper caught on fire from the bulb, and since Christmas trees burn very quickly, it could have burned the house down. The ghost of my grandmother who died just a month before I was born pushed the huge Christmas tree down before the actual tree could be engolfed in flames, saving our lives. To this day, there is still Santa fuzz on the chandelier light bulb.
Not scary I know. Just thought I would share.

It's funny you guys mentioned TAPS. They are based here in my home town and Grant lives just a few minutes away from me in the town over.
My family LOVES Ghosts Hunters, we don't miss it ever!
My husband drives by their headquarters every weekend when he's going to work in Warwick and he tells me when they are out on a case

*I wanted to mention that we've had our experiences but I don't have time to write big stuff right now, gotta go make dinner. Our farm was built in 1727 and was part of a 350 acre plantation. The house is a colonial with 6 fireplaces, 5 bedrooms, lots of nooks and crannies, and the original servants quarters in the attic, as well as the butlers pantry upstairs.
The basement is all stone walls, uber creepy, part of it has s dirt crawl space. I've had doors open right in front of me, the living room TV turns on by itself, lights go off and on, and recently I saw a shadowy figure in the upstairs bathroom. Over the years the place hasn't been shuffled between alot of owners so many people have lived here until they died here. I don't get the feeling that anything here is bad at all and it's not a big deal to me.
Now the barn is a different story. It's bigger than the house, three stories plus the carriage house. Sometimes I get the feeling when I'm in there that I shouldn't be poking around and that I'm bring watched. The thing is huge, you could literally fit a basketball court in the second story.*

NEVER use those board things! Unless you want a spirit in your house! Ok, here's my stories. My friend was real little when this happened. She would always swing on this swing and this old guy would come and talk to her. He was their neighbor or something. Anyways he would talk to her and seem all friendly then as time went on he got meaner and meaner until he actually tried to kill her. Good thing her parents were there because the stopped him. Then he disapeared out of thin air. They went to their neighbors and a young girl who lived there came out. They asked her about the guy and the girl said only she lived there. Ok, here's my other story. I was at my friends house and we were outside in her backyard. She told me she had seen a ghost with like a stretch mouth that went all the way to the floor. We were trying to get pictures with my digital camera of the ghost. So we went near the edge of the river in her yard and there across the river were these strange yellow eyes of this creature. We both saw it had like a Mohawk and it was small like a raccoon. It had these yellow eyes that glowed even though it was day. It looked like a bear, raccoon mixed together. Truly strange. Creeps me out. Oh yeah, if you are having problems with ghosts call on God. He's stronger than any ghost.
