My parents rented a cabin on Hunting Island for about a week, this cabin was privately owned, unlike some of the other cabins that were owned by the state. Well it had been remodeled. There was an upstairs and a downstairs, when you even walked downstairs you could "feel" like someone was watching you, it was creepy.

Well because of this me and my brother slept with my mom in the master bedroom (bottom floor) at the time I was like 7. I woke up in the middle of the night to find a older woman looking out the window, she was only like 10ft away from me! You could see her and her clothing, but you could at the same time see through her.

I woke up my mom and my mom said it was the "Lamp SHade" but how could it be the lamp shade when the lamp shade was far away from this lady im seeing?

The next morning I ask my mom about it and she confesses that she said it was the lamp shade because she didn't want to scare me, and she saw it too.

I saw her again one more time, this time it was a few nights later and she was in the same spot, I just went under the covers, I was afraid if I tried to run upstairs to my father, she would look at me.

Thats my ghost story, what's yours?

Greetings All!

Wanted to offer a piece of advice to anyone who is "haunted." In a calm, normal voice tell your house, each and every room.... "if you are here in peace, you may stay, if you are not, you must leave." If your ghost continues to give you difficulties, say to them... "In the Name of the Father, Jesus Christ his Son, and the Power of the Holy Ghost, I COMMAND you back to Hell where you belong!" And MEAN it! Any "spirit" that is "lost" will usually leave after the first warning. If you're not a Christian, call on your Deity of Choice to remove this being from your home.

IF this doesn't work, PM me and I'll give you further steps to take to safeguard your family and home.

I'm no "Ghost Whisperer"by any means, but I started seeing ghosts when I was about 5 or 6. I thought everyone could. You mean you CAN'T SEE that Lady standing in the hall? It was no big deal to me. I never understood why all the adults were "freakin-out"over it all.

We lived in a track-house (you know, those cookie-cutter houses all alike in newer subdivisions?) about an hour from Los Angeles. I'd see these strangers walking around our house. None of them ever scared me, or tried to hurt me, or even stayed very long. The last ghost I saw there, I was 12 years old, and jumped out of bed screaming! I swore that my bed was on fire, the house was on fire, the neighborhood was on fire, the whole world was on fire! Apparently, whoever it was had died as a child in a fire. Didn't like THAT one. I could SEE the flames, FEEL the heat, SMELL the smoke, even after I was fully awake. It took my parents the rest of the night to get me calmed down enough to stop shaking and crying. I KNEW it was real, and was happening to me! Had that happen three times over the next year. Still can close my eyes and see it again, over 35 years later.

Not long before my father passed away, he was in CCU after a massive heart attack. One morning, my mother was there with him, he raised up in the bed, stretched out his hands toward the foot of the bed, and started crying... His mother was there. She told him that it was not yet his time, that there was nothing to be afraid of, as she was waiting for him, and he'd be with her soon enough. My mother could smell her perfume, and saw a haze at the foot of the bed, and KNEW SOMETHING was happening. It took him several weeks to finally tell my mother what had happened. Now, my dad didn't believe in ghosts, was a "bible-thumping Baptist" with a fear of hell. After he saw her, he was at peace with his fate, knew he was dying sooner than later, and made his peace and said his fair-thee-wells to all the people who mattered to him.

When I was in my early 20's I had a vision of my ex-husband just as I was getting ready for bed. He said he had come to say "Remember! I told you I wouldn't live to see my 40th birthday! good-bye, and that he would "take care of" our daughter. Three weeks later, I got a letter from his mother telling me that he had died the day I had seen him, in an accident. That was 3 weeks before his 40th birthday. Every now and then, I would smell his aftershave (which no one else wore), and almost immediately, my daughter would tell me that "HE's here again." We would move from one place to another, and so would he. I was awakened one night, and he was cussing and mumbling, fit to be tied. I later found out that another of his children had been placed permanently in foster-care, and his family wouldn't even try to give that child a home. Sad, really.

We bought a house in the town where we live now.... got moved in and unpacked.... started having the faucets turn themselves on, could smell brownies baking, the fridge door would be wide open, lights going on and off, things moving, etc.... all in the middle of the night and everyone asleep in bed. Later started seeing this older gentleman around the house. We'd just catch a glimpse of him out of the corner of our eyes. Everyone saw him, not just me. Finally, I hollered at the ghost that "unless he was going to start paying the utilities, to stop playing with the fridge!" He stopped!

It turned out that our ghost matched the description of the man who had built the house 70 years before. He didn't pass away in the house, but had lived there his entire married life. His wife eventually needed to be in a nursing home, and her family sold the house, and we bought it. When his wife passed away several years later, we stopped seeing him or having things happen. He never bothered anyone, or even interacted with any of us. I just think he was waiting for her before he moved on.

I've regularly seen, heard, felt, been touched by, several friends and family members who have passed-on. It's a comfort to KNOW, to have PROOF, that our existance continues after the body has died.

Ghosts are real, and, usually harmless.

My neighbor was laying her bed one night when she was 10. she had a car that had a working radio and lights. well, she was sleeping and then the lights turned on a ballet music started to play. she got up, turned it off, then went to sleep. she awoke to the lights on and country music playing. she took out one battery, then went to bed. again the same thing happened with rap music. she took out all the batterys. same thing. she hit it and stomped on it, then it stopped. not that scary, but still weird.

In my opinion the preacher nailed it. "Ghosts" are demons. Satan wants to make people doubt Gods gift of His house with many rooms. The more people doubt what happens when you die the more Satan wins. Absent in the flesh ... present with the Lord. What people see are not Aunt Bee and Uncle Ray but things sent to play with their minds and make them wonder. Satan has great power. Look at Job. He was tested by Satan. Don't let Satan steal your joy at living or make you wonder if your dead loved one is roaming the house instead of being in the Lords home. You will be at peace knowing the truth. Pray in His name and send the demon away.

And I used to work right by an old cemetary at night ... never saw a thing. Lived in a "haunted house" in Oklahoma .... never saw a thing and never heard wierd noises other than the water heater. If someone had lived there that believed in ghosts they could have heard all kind of things. Imiginations run wild and it seems to happen mainly at night when its harder to to get proof either way if it happened or not. I'll see if I can figure out how to load a photo I took and you tell me what it is of .............back in a minute

Now using photoshop I could remove the snowy ground and replace it with the current brown/green yard from a newer photo (if my camera had a battery for me to take the picture).

I'm not trying to be argumentative! Just giving my opinion! Enjoy life. Laugh at the funny things and cry at the sad. And, in my opinion, nothing would be sadder than to have a loved one walking the earth in some sort of limbo and not being at peace. Now go hug a chicken and be happy! I plan to do just that!

I have had a lot of 'ghosts' come and go in my life. Seems every place I move to has a haunt or two. The place we are on now in Arkansas, used to be a old saw mill back in the 40's. The chains and log moving tools are still dug up today. Our house is sitting right on the old foundation of the mill.
I was working on the back yard shortly after we moved in. I was digging post holes for our dogs holding pen. I noticed a man watching me from the back of the house. He was dressed in coveralls with a red checkered shirt. I glanced up at him, and said "Hi Baby". I was thinking it was my husband. It dawned on me he never has worn overalls. I looked back up, and he was now walking towards our well house and a quick pace. He glanced over his shoulder back at me, and smiled!!! Thats when I looked down at his feet, and he had none!! His legs ended just below his knees. The vanished behind our small well house. I walked the few feet to the well house, and of course he wasn't there, and had no place to go. He was never more than 20 or 30 feet from me, so I got a good look at him. Since then I have seen him a lot. At least once every couple of months. He is always smiling and turns, then walks away, glancing at me over his shoulder. I have never felt afraid of him, I don't think he means any harm. He is just a 'good ole boy' from the past. Guess I'll be watching out who I call "Baby",,,
