Ghost????

Very interesting stuff. Too bad about the watch. It spent so much time on your DH's dad's wrist it was bound to have a connection in some way. So how did he even read it?

It had raised numbers and the glass case flipped open so he could feel the numbers. Dang I wish DH didn't throw it out. I should have looked for it in the garbage, but all that stuff went into a dumpster.....I wasn't going to dive into that mess !

Oh, that's cool. Makes you wonder if there was a magnetic field making the watch stop or was your DH's dad trying to check it for accuracy? My brother was gifted a beautiful grandfather clock by my grandmother. His wife stuffed it in a back bedroom because it kept going off and required too much work (guess pulling the weights was just too much labor). I just laugh. One day when my grandmother leaves this earth, she's going to fix that issue. She's noticed where the clock was placed and she wasn't pleased.

Here is a copy of the post I had on the "wierd phobias" thread a while back.

OMG. That reminds me of something that happened to my sister. First of all, we grew up in an old farm house that alway had wierd stuff happening in it. Everybody that ever lived there knew it was haunted. Dad bought and sold a lot of antiques. My sister liked dolls so Dad would sometimes give her antique dolls. He found a doll that was in great condition and still in the box. It was supposedly the first walking & talking doll sold. It was very pretty and had long reddish brown hair and ivory teeth. DS took it out of the box (the box was safely stored) and left it displayed in the corner of her room. She never played with it because of its age and value. DS and I were about 7 & 8 at the time. We stayed up late one night and watched a scary movie about dolls coming to life and attacking people. Of course all of the dolls had those scary ivory teeth. Anyway, DS went to bed and had all these stupid scary antique dolls staring at her, especially the one in the corner. One of the cats must have bumped the doll because it came to life!! The stupid thing started walking across the room and saying, "Mary had a little lamb, it's fleece was white as snow....." You should have heard the screams!!!!! I'll bet it even scared the ghosts!!

I had a life-size doll named Marcy and a few other smaller dolls. Marcy did and still gives me the creeps. I keep her because my grandmother gave her to me but she remains in a box with a bag over her head. I've given the few remaining dolls to my daughter and they are all on stands but that will will remain boxed! I remember that doll! I saw a shirt in Old Navy and held it up for my BFF to see it. We started laughing. I swear it was the same polka dot that Ms. Beasley wore. Some women in their 20's looked at us like we were nutso. Boy, we needed that giggle.

Dolls can be creepy! Especially the older ones. When I was 5 my family stayed over at my cousin's house for the night, and I got to sleep in the guest bedroom with a shelf full of marionettes (sp) They were all hanging in front of a mirror. I swear they moved all night, and I heard clicking noises. All I could imagine was that they were talking to each other with their little mouths clicking away.....

Jody - that's creepy!!

LunaChick, I wouldn't have got a wink of sleep that night. I remember the padded, red door that was on a jr high friend's bedroom door. That creeped me out! It was like a coffin door. Gives me chills still. Probably didn't help that we held seances in there!

Horsejody, you could write a book on your childhood experiences. Your poor pets must have been skittish most of the time for all the strange stuff going on there.

Well that is a creepy picture, but it is a prank I'm sure. I don't buy the possibility of ghosts one bit. I have been in MANY haunted buildings, a murder victims BASEMENT, a farm house built in the early in the 1800's. While I will admit it is eerie, there was no ghosts. I have spent nights in said haunted houses and been awake at midnight. But no ghosts.
