Giant Dandelion Poofball?

I took a picture today of a giant dandelion poofball. You know, the kind where you blow on it and all the little white things take off? Thing is, I don't remember ever seeing a giant dandelion flower there. What other plants have the giant poofballs?

I'll try and post a picture if I can get my computer to work.

My son and I found a giant "wishy" at June Lake once - it was a big as my hand.

I don't know what they're called, but we've got them all over around here.

Well because there is nothing to compare it to, I am gonna say ours was bigger

But that is a wishy!!!!

Can you post a pic of the foliage also? That will really help to identify it.

my mom said those are males and the flowers are females. they are males cuz they polinate and make others grow? idk sometimes she says some off the wall stuff

there are several different varieties of dandelions and they produce different size seed heads.

I went and dug out my wildflower book.....It's called Western Salsify
