Giant egg yolk inside Ouch egg

One of my smaller RIRs laid this egg today.
Its sitting next to my more "normal" sized eggs.

We thought it would have two yolks in it, but no, its was just one giant yolk.
Here it is next to a "normal" sized yolk.

yummy that yolk looks like it would require two pieces of toast to dip. I guess if a chick had come out of that egg it would have been some sort of giant chicken!

You could have hatched out a giant chick from that egg.

It looks like we get molting in the spring here in Alaska, and this egg and the fact that most of them are getting paler by the week, would indicate that is so.
I expect many more extra larg yolks in the next few weeks.
Next year, we will have an incubator, so believe you me, we will have to try out some of the big ones.
