Here it is with a fresh egg, and a store egg.

I expexted a triple yoker, but it was an egg, inside of an egg.

I know ! She made a bunch of racket for like three hours and that popped out.

When our buff orpington, Sassy, laid her first egg, she stood up in the nest box, every feather straight on end, staring off into the distance, and said "EEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeee!"
Ever since, eggs that look like this one, are called EEEEE's in our family. Congratulations on your EEEEEE!

I have an ongoing "biggest egg" weight on my dry erase board (this is where I keep all my important info) so I can keep a running tab of the largest egg i get. It sounds silly, but it's kinda neat.......although I've never had an egg inside of an egg before....

I had one of those!! It was very cool! And it was only the third day after my hens started laying...fortunately it didn't hurt her enough that she stopped

I wasn't home to hear how much noise she made.

I didn't think at the time to use a ruler, though I did get a pic if it in the carton & when cracking it. Here's the thread with my pics:
